Day 9 – Boats, Boats, Boats

We got a late start after a night at Carpe Diem. That said, we had a single mission today. Island hopping. You can rent a little 5 knot boat for 70 euros for the day. We visited a number of the neighboring islands to Hvar and this boat was worth every penny or lipa I should say. The water was so blue! The only thing that was missing was coral for a thriving fish ecosystem. The water was an ideal temperature and was super easy to swim in due to the high salt levels.

For the gram???

After a day of boating, we walked along the boardwalk of the Hvar city center to Hula-Hula Beach Bar for happy hour. I had a pina colada, a drink I haven’t had in years! Next stop was Falco, a highly recommended restaurant and my favorite food stop of the trip. To me, this restaurant had it all. The ambiance, service, and food all married together for a great experience. This was my kind of place. Located a bit further out of town on the water, Falco is a hidden gem. When you first walk in, you get a real beach vibe. The bar, made out of a combination of weathered wood from the sea and leaves that created the thatching for the roof. You walked up the stone steps and to your left were lounging areas and hammocks. We sat at a cute wooden table with white legs along the walking path. A couple dogs roamed the area while jazz played in the background. For dinner, we had bruschetta and Croatian steak. Both cooked to perfection and with great flavor. I accompanied my meal with Croatian red wine that paired perfectly with my dinner.

We walked back home after a long day in the sun to wake up early for our trip back to Dubrovnik for one last day.

Until next time…
