Next stop was the island of Hvar. We took the 7 AM ferry to Hvar and arrived at 10:20 AM. The ultimate goal of visiting Hvar was to relax and get some beach time. When we arrived, we were greeted by our favorite Airbnb host of the trip, Alex. He picked us up from the town center and made sure we got settled into our apartment. But, he didn’t stop there. He showed us on a map which beaches and neighboring islands to visit. He then proceeded to drive us to the supermarket so we could get snacks for the beach and then took us to the beach. No wonder he’s a super host on Airbnb. The first beach we went to was Pokonji dol Beach. A rather tucked away beach with two restaurants to make sure guests stay hydrated and stomachs full. The big difference with beaches in Dubrovnik and Hvar is that they are stone beaches, rather than sand.

After getting some much needed beach time, we got ready to go out since after all it was Saturday night. We were told by Colin’s brother that the place to go is Carpe Diem beach on the island of Otok Marinkovac. Suffice to say, when you go there, you’re objective is to seize the day or night in this case.

Until next time…
