Italy was absolutely beautiful, rich with history and culinary treats. I certainly plan to go back some day to get a more in-depth look into the different areas of Italy. On the list still remains Venice, Florence, Amalfi Coast, Cinque Terre, and of course more wine tasting throughout Tuscany.
Next stop was Dubrovnik, Croatia. Just a quick hour and half flight east of Rome. We arrived in the morning and was greeted by a series of phenomenal Airbnb hosts. Our first host in Dubrovnik picked us up from the airport free of charge. We stayed in a unit above where he and his family lived for the night and they were so gracious. They brought us tea when we arrived and gave us grapes from their yard later that day. After getting settled, we ventured into Old Town inside the Walls of Dubrovnik. This town is possibly the most beautiful city that I have ever been to in my years of travel. Nestled on the coast of the Adriatic Sea, the towering walls of Dubrovnik protected the city from the elements and potential threat long ago. Each building had red clay shingles and stone walls. It’s like walking back in time when visiting Dubrovnik.

After climbing the Walls of Dubrovnik in the scorching heat (~90 degrees Fahrenheit), we took a quick snack break and shared some calamari. This was the start of a seafood craze that lasted our whole time in Croatia.

Next stop was the cable car that took us to get a birds eye view of Dubrovnik. We tried to make it up to the lookout by golden hour but were a bit late :(. Here are some pictures of the view.

Until next time…
